The brand is named after Don Aparo, a longtime vineyard manager at Pascual Toso. According to the winery's story:
- He rode his bicycle about 14 km every day to tend the vineyards.
- Every evening he made a final round through the vines carrying a lantern, ensuring everything was in order.
- His dedication became a symbol of the winery's tradition, care, and craftsmanship, which inspired the brand identity and label artwork.
