Oromate comes from a relatively small plantation, El Agricultor, in the Guairá region, situated in the heart of eastern Paraguay. This area is one of the richest and most fertile regions in Paraguay. The plantation was founded by Pablo and Jorge Escher. Initially, the brand Yerba Mate Reina was produced on the plantation, which later transformed into Oromate. Oromate Anis is a Paraguayan classic with a traditional character. The cut, smokiness, high powder content, finely ground leaves, and resulting taste – all attributes match what you would expect from a traditional Paraguayan maté. The addition of anise interestingly breaks the bitterness, but it serves as a pleasant background that does not disturb the balance, and the presence of anise is by no means overwhelming.
