It is considered one of the best Paraguayan matés. Only the finest stems and leaves of yerba maté, which are the most aromatic and have a high content of vitamins and minerals, are used in its production. It is characterized by a very intense taste and aroma, offering a rich blend with a decent mix of greenish to brownish tones. The first thing you notice when opening the package is a solid portion of powder . The leaves are cut shorter than usual with other brands. This is because Paraguayans prefer preparation in the tereré style (cold). Selecta Traditional is smoked during the drying process, resulting in a bolder flavor when drinking with cold or hot water. The history of Selecta began around the year 1942, when Mr. Reinaldo Brönstrup and his wife Mrs. Malvina Bohn, both immigrants, dedicated themselves to the first yerba mate plantations in the area; they decided to start the production of Yerba Mate, a few years later a mill was built and from the year 1950 they dedicated themselves to the integral production of Yerba Mate from the nurseries, cultivation, harvesting, processing and packaging of the final product, which went on the market with the name of Yerba Mate Selecta. More than 70 years have passed since the "Selecta" brand came onto the market, the greatest legacy left by the past generation is the culture of work, faith in God and love for the family as well as the values of excellence, teamwork, honesty and respect that drive to continue with the objective of "Producing Quality".
