Our wild Damask rose, located on the outskirts of the Taklimakan Desert, is harvested at the start of June. It’s considered one of the finest roses in the world. The cultivar originates from Western Asia and reached China thousands of years ago via the ancient Silk Road. In the desert region of southern Xinjiang, the rose thrives thanks to the area's unique climate, soil composition, and highland geology. The flowers have a beautifully plump shape and a distinctive violet-red color. Their fragrance is pure yet powerfully rosy. The rose garden follows principles of organic farming and has been locally owned by Uyghur communities for decades. The key to the rose’s exceptional aroma is natural drying—a process made possible by the desert’s special climate, with abundant sunshine and dry winds.
