Sencha Karigane offers a very rich and full aroma and flavor, in many ways richer than classic Sencha. Karigane contains not only the leaves but also other parts of the tea plant that are usually excluded during the production of traditional Sencha. Unlike Kukicha teas, which typically include both thin and thick stems, petioles, and the lower veined parts of the leaves—often made from material intended for Sencha or Matcha production—Sencha Karigane teas contain only the petioles and larger lower parts of the Sencha tea leaves.
