Product detailed description
Jasmine Dragon Pearls is a highly prized jasmine-scented tea originating from the famous tea-growing region of Fuding in Fujian Province, China. Also known as Mo Li Zhen Zhu Cha, or Phoenix Pearls, it is handcrafted by tightly rolling delicate leaves and buds into small pearl-shaped balls. The pearls are then stored in a dark room where up to six layers of tea alternate with layers of fresh jasmine flowers. Once the pearls absorb the jasmine fragrance, the flowers are removed, and the pearls are re-dried to eliminate any residual moisture gathered during the scenting process. Jasmine tea holds great esteem in China and is often used as a welcoming gesture for guests.
This Genmaicha is crafted in the traditional way preferred by the farmers themselves.

"precious eyebrows," a poetic reference to the long, curved shape of this tea’s leaves.
