Unlike maté, which is prepared with hot water, tereré is consumed with cold water, resulting in a pleasant and refreshing drink. Because the leaves are coarsely cut, unlike traditional maté, tereré doesn't have as many issues with clogging. Tereré yerba maté consists of 50% leaves and 50% stems, while traditional maté consists of 70% leaves and 30% stems. If you choose traditional preparation, we recommend using water at a lower temperature, about 65-75°C. The taste of the infusion is then more intense than with tereré. Produced by Terra Mate from Brazil with excellent quality standards. A good way to enjoy tereré is to prepare a strong infusion from 200g of maté in 0.5l of water, strain it through a sieve, and use the strong homemade extract with mineral water, ice, and juice.
