Le varieta uruguaiane, prodotte principalmente in Brasile per il mercato uruguaiano, si caratterizzano per una combinazione interessante di sapori, specialmente nella versione erbacea. L'amarezza e l'acidita della yerba sono relativamente moderate, con una leggera cremosita e note di erba, ortica, te e cereali.
