Box Yerba Mate Titrayju je řemeslné argentinské yerba mate vyráběné malými rodinnými farmáři v Misiones pod záštitou družstva Cooperativa Agrícola Río Paraná. Listy jsou sušeny tradiční metodou barbacuá, kdy horký dřevěný oheň pomalu suší yerbu, čímž získává mírně kouřovou, dřevitou vůni. Yerba je přirozeně zrána více než 12 měsíců, což vede k hluboké, komplexní chuti s zemními, travnatými tóny, náznaky opečeného chleba, arašídů, tmavé čokolády, karamelu a medu. Jedná se o směs con palo (s větvičkami), vyrobenou agroekologickými postupy a zcela bez agrotoxických látek. Je bezlepková, vhodná pro celiaky a vyráběná podle principů fair trade, podporujících místní farmáře a venkovské komunity. The Río Paraná Agricultural Cooperative, through its brand Titrayju, promotes the principles of fair trade.
For several years now, it has been working together with its members in the province of Misiones, focusing on environmental care and always seeking the well-being of the participating members.
The cooperative buys yerba mate leaves (in their green, unprocessed form) from the farmers who are part of it and pays them a fair price, so that families can develop as dignified a livelihood as possible and do not abandon their farms. In this way, it helps slow migration and strengthens families within their social communities.
The social work carried out by the Río Paraná Cooperative as an institution is very important. It defends the rights of small farmers in Misiones and supports their development. For these and other reasons, its track record is considered an example of responsible social equity.
