Le Cedron (Aloysia triphylla) est une plante médicinale traditionnelle d'Amérique du Sud, utilisée pour traiter divers maux. Il agit positivement sur l'harmonisation du système nerveux, les migraines, la dépression et la mémoire. Il est également utilisé pour traiter les problèmes gynécologiques et menstruels féminins. Il contribue à l'amélioration des fonctions pulmonaires, gastriques et digestives, et aide aussi à limiter la propagation des virus de la grippe, en traitant la toux et les maladies bronchopulmonaires, y compris l'asthme. The history of Selecta began around the year 1942, when Mr. Reinaldo Brönstrup and his wife Mrs. Malvina Bohn, both immigrants, dedicated themselves to the first yerba mate plantations in the area; they decided to start the production of Yerba Mate, a few years later a mill was built and from the year 1950 they dedicated themselves to the integral production of Yerba Mate from the nurseries, cultivation, harvesting, processing and packaging of the final product, which went on the market with the name of Yerba Mate Selecta.
