Uruguayan-style yerba mate made in Brazil. As is typical for this type of yerba, it is finely cut with minimal inclusion of stems and a moderate amount of powder. The cut is PU1, meaning it contains a maximum of 10% stems, with the rest being finely crushed leaves. PU1 is the finest cut from the three common standards of yerba mate and is the most popular in Uruguay. The Paisana has a very inviting aroma, slightly nutty and grassy. The infusion is slightly creamy and subtly grassy, with bitterness not being very pronounced. The effectiveness, as expected from Uruguayan yerba, is above average and certainly provides a decent energy boost. It is recommended to use a Chimarrao-style bombilla with a wide round filter.
