In its early days Molinos La Mision S.A. began as a personal venture of Don Juan Eladio Stepaniuk, the son of Ukrainian immigrants who arrived in the country with the first great wave of European migration at the beggining of the 20th century. With the support of his family, and especially his mother, Dona Nina Solovej de Stepaniuk, who always instilled in him a love for the land and hard work, Don Juan began planting the first Yerba Mate crops in the city of Obera, in the province of Misiones.

Years later, he built the drying facility (secadero), and within a few more years, the mill, thus completing the entire products process - from growing the seedlings and cultivating the plantation to harvesting, drying, packaging, and ultimately selling the final product.

Today, Yerba Mate production remains the main company’s activity. Hundreds of hectares of own plantations, located in various regions of Misiones and Corriesntes, and distribute the products throughout different parts of Argentina and abroad.
