La Caja Yerba Mate Titrayju es una yerba mate artesanal argentina producida por pequeños agricultores familiares en Misiones bajo la cooperativa Cooperativa Agrícola Río Paraná. Las hojas se secan utilizando el método tradicional barbacuá, donde el fuego de leña caliente seca la yerba lentamente, dándole un aroma ligeramente ahumado y amaderado. La yerba se envejece naturalmente por más de 12 meses, resultando en un sabor profundo y complejo con notas terrosas, herbales, toques de pan tostado, maní, chocolate oscuro, caramelo y miel. Esta es una mezcla con palo (con tallos), elaborada mediante prácticas agroecológicas y completamente libre de agrotoxinas. Es libre de gluten, apta para celíacos y elaborada según principios de comercio justo que apoyan a los agricultores locales y comunidades rurales. Titrayju es conocida por su sabor audaz y duradero, su suavidad al beber y su fuerte impacto social — cada paquete apoya directamente a pequeños productores en Misiones. The Río Paraná Agricultural Cooperative, through its brand Titrayju, promotes the principles of fair trade.
For several years now, it has been working together with its members in the province of Misiones, focusing on environmental care and always seeking the well-being of the participating members.
The cooperative buys yerba mate leaves (in their green, unprocessed form) from the farmers who are part of it and pays them a fair price, so that families can develop as dignified a livelihood as possible and do not abandon their farms. In this way, it helps slow migration and strengthens families within their social communities.
The social work carried out by the Río Paraná Cooperative as an institution is very important. It defends the rights of small farmers in Misiones and supports their development. For these and other reasons, its track record is considered an example of responsible social equity.
